Newbie- bla, bla, bla.....Me: Retired four months ago at 53 years young, and thought it was time to finally join the forum. Life is good- ok great! Road cycle elitist that occasionally lowers his standard and rides a hard tail. Although, the weather in the Great North East is not cooperating for cycling in any way. Hopefully, I'll cheat the season and get a few more days in. I am good up until the temperature dips below 36 degrees or so, and then it's time for the season end, and move on to Nordic skiing (another addictive sport - oh yeah), with some trainer work to keep things interesting.
Thanks, for all the photographs/videos. I am all about the view, and truly appreciate the incredible differences in scenery from a cyclist's eye. Have a nice Thanksgiving/holiday season, and please- Think Snow.....

This time of year I always think snow, but on postcards only. I'm good to ride all year long. Snow just makes it more difficult after it gets rutted and then freezes.
Oh, and welcome.

Welcome! and agree with NOS88 that you're welcome to all the snow that falls in your neck of the woods but please no more than necessary hereabouts.

Welcome. I got a very nice but very short ride in today at 58F in Denver - sunny and clear.
I started at 5:30 am with one hour in the spin class, and during the day got in a swim, a good gym workout and a short walk!!
Enjoy the forum.

I am 10 years older than you and still working, but I have reached the enviable stage at which I work when I want, on what I want, where I want, and for/with whom I want. I'll bet you have more time for cycling than I do right now.

I'm blessed living down here in south central Texas where we don't really have a winter to speak of.
It might get down into the twenties and thirties a few days a year, but in reality you can just about ride any day, and I've ridden with the few days of low temps, and sat out a few just to wait until the temperature reached back into the 60's and 70's in a couple days.

Get yer self a fat bike. You'll kill two birds with one stone; 1, you'll be adhearing to the n+1 rule, and, B, you'll have a bike to ride on the snow.
