Topless winter thread.

First full day of winter found me riding a 40 miler with parts of the ride on the more remote parts of the Perkiomen Trail. It was 68 degrees and I saw a few runners. One group of eight (4 men & 4 women) were ALL running topless. As I saw them coming I thought they were all men, but at about 80 yards it was clear they were a mixed group. I'm guessing they were in their late 20s. All smiled and waved as we passed one another.

I admire you for keeping enough control not to wreck your bike.

OK you social scientists. Explain it to me.

Visit site like Chive and you'll see endless skanky selfies. I've studied hundreds of them and I'm deeply disturbed.

Yes, that was a bit tongue in cheek.

But I don't understand the compulsion of young women to post on Facebook and such pictures of them imitating Miley and Madonna.

It's not like someone in Hollywood is going to care, other than setting up an occasional "casting session". Any guy that intrigued will just wander over to iPornville when he's bored. Not exactly soulmate material.

And jogging topless is asking for navel swingers in a few years. They can't really want that.

And get off my lawn.

It was probably a solstice-type celebration. More common around the summer solstice in certain parts of Northern Europe, but I imagine people do it around the winter one, too, especially on an unseasonably warm day. Traditionally, it's done fully naked, but topless probably passes muster.

And for most of the female runners that I've met over the years, "sag" is never going to be an issue. Especially on those that one might mistake for being male, at first glance.

I picked the wrong day not to go riding on the trail. I did a quick 15 miles on the roads around Schwehnksville. If it was around there I will be bummed, random acts of nakedness are almost always pleasant.

That's probably true in the US because pretty much the only ones who do it here are people who are real confident about how they look naked. In other parts of the world I'm not so sure.

It was a segment going through Graterford.

Here we take a sauna, wood fire only, we beat ourselves with willow branches and then jump into a snowbank. In my old age I only take sauna. In my old age community nakedness for these endeavors is now sex segregated. Unless you are drunk twenty somethings.

That's right by the largest maximum security prison in Pennsylvania. Maybe some kind of punishment for the prisoners.

In my old age community of friends, we do not sex segregate the sauna. No whipping or snow rolling, though. What happens to whatever does not seem to depend on whether or not it's been supported, BTW. That's an ancient fiction from those who sell support garments. No consequences to being comfortable apparently.

I call BS without pix.

I saw some topless riding this weekend too. No kidding.

The worst part is that this guy almost caught me on a hybrid ... and wearing work boots, no less.

Yikes ... clearly you haven't been to a nude beach lately. I dunno if it's so much as "confidence" as they don't care what people think. NTTAWWT.

As for me, I do the world a favor and leave my clothes on.

Oregon must be one of those "other parts of the world".

Works for me. Or you could write an operetta in your spare time.

I did some asking around and you've hit on what was likely happening.

Dang, cold-nudity-snowbank, for some inexplicable reason http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FrOQC-zEog came to mind.
