My wife always worries about my commute rides, all in the dark in the morning, so she got me reflective tape for my spokes, a flashing leg band and a light that fits in the wheel and changes colors as it goes around. Also a warm wool cap that goes under my helmet so I'm cozy while all the flashing and reflecting is going on.
Not sure any of this will help but I figure it couldn't hurt!

Gifts from others.... 1 pair PI socks.
Gifts for myself (does this count?), to numerous to mention!
I've been a bad boy this holiday season.

When strangers passed me while riding and said, "I like your jersey", https://ironmanstore.com/ironman-men-...ng-jersey.html I knew I was right when I told my wife her present to me was the coolest jersey I ever got. Also the Sugoi Triathlon shorts.

Louis Garneau Gloves for Ł9.99 ( cant believe that lol ).
Multitool.
New tyres, chain and sprocket for my bike plus an Airzound Horn and Bottle Cage.
And handlebar grips very comfy now and more secure than the old ones which were tatty and slipping off.

My wonderful wife ordered me a Mongoose Beast from Wal-Mart. I think it will be pivotal this spring in getting back in shape, not to mention FUN ! The reactions to those big tires make me smile, and when they ask "wheresamotor, man?" tom

Do things that you buy for yourself in a spirit of festivity count?

Bicycle Quarterly 2014 calendar, "History of Bicycling in Fifty Bikes" Tom Ambrose.
I also ordered an alertshirt pullover and wore it to see the relatives. They initially suggested nobody had called the fire dept. Then they kept asking me to go outside and direct traffic.

Oh well then.
For my '83 road Trek 970 build:
Late '70s Suntour Cyclone rear derailleur (as in my avatar)
Pair of late '70s NOS 7200 Dura Ace downtube friction shifters (matches the Shimano-Suntour Mix on my other bike )
Some Shimano to Campy boss downtube shifter adapters.
Set of NOS Suntour (Nashbar) sealed 36 hole freewheel hubs.
Pair of NOS Dia Compe 400 brake calipers.
Some chainrings to replace the stock ones on a VO crankset that I haven't ordered yet.
A clamp on pump peg for a Silca frame pump.
Some spare Sram PC 870 chains
A spare first generation Shimano 600 rear derailleur just in case I decide to gear this bike down someday. (Not the arabesque one)
Some Testors touch up paint and Naval Jelly
Waiting for my march bonus check to finish this one up.
For my '86 Trek 500:
Sugino compact crankset and some 46 x 36 chainrings to replace the stock ones.
Early '80s Shimano RD-6207 600 EX derailleur that will pick up a 28 tooth freewheel sprocket. (Not the arabesque one)
A Sunrace 14x28 freewheel just to see what it looks like (might get a Shimano too)
Clothes:
This back pocketed Merino T shirt

And thanks Santa !

The gift: it Didn't Rain that day , and at my friend's house, I had great Food..
and socialized..
As far as Bike stuff , I got my Light setup sorted before the Solstice ..
Brompton-Shimano wheel, B&M line tech taillight and Eyc-t headlight ..
In that case, no gifts, I paid.

Two pairs of fleece lined pants for winter riding.
Many pairs of Toastie Toes chemical toe warmers.
A GoPro camera (which I need to order a helmet strap for). Maybe I'll post some videos here one of these days.
