Finally! First Ride of the season.
Braved the gusty winds to do my first ride of the season. Only 12 miles but great satisfaction finally getting out of the basement and on the road and knowing that the whole summer awaits!

It's been a really cold winter here in SW Ohio, with many days of close to record lows. But mixed in were some unseasonably warm days, and some of those were dry, too. I got out 5 times in Jan and Feb, mostly in the 50F range.
The heavy blue and red lines are average low and high for that day, and the faint lines are record low and high. There were wild swings in temperature this winter.

I figured the winter from hell was done with the continental US, but noooooo, supposed to be high 30's here tonight and the winds have never abated at all. Even these few warm days had stiff, gusty south winds. At least this is supposed to be over with in a day or so, highs in the mid 70's by Friday, so they say.

Back here (SW Ontario) for a little kick as well; 22C or so Sunday/Monday -- -2C this a.m. (-9C tonight). About 5cms snow on the ground. Oh well; I've managed a few commutes and two long rides so far in April.

As my students would say, "I know, right?". Thursday is looking much better here (London) as well ... still too much rain for my liking over the next week or so, but as long as the snow's gone I'm happy.

It has indeed been a horribly long winter here in the Northeast. Last night was warm, but very, very windy. "Plastic Trash Can in the street weather".
