My wife's description of me (while I was there)
So, my wife and one of her friends were doing bead crafting a couple of days ago when I showed my wife my newest ouchie done while polishing my cranks ( I managed to run into the grinding wheel on the other side with my wrist while polishing a crank arm on my bench grinder).
Here's what she said to her friend. "He was an expert skier in Washington, he even tought expert level skiing as an instructor. He's a really good bike rider, he's a really fast road rider and he rides mountain bikes, but he can't walk from one end of the house to the other without hurting himself. I"m not sure if I like that or not.:notamused: |
So start riding your bicycle through the house. How could your wife complain since it is safer for you.

Welcome to my world!, not a skier by any stretch of my vivid imagination,(it isn't really conducive to snow skiing here in Florida,) but I work in dangerous conditions every day and come through fairly unscathed, I cannot make it a day without cutting, scrapes, bruises or falling somewhere in my own home. Maybe CB has a good idea, I could set up some beams and other things from a jobsite here n the house and..............

I hope you have a single story house. I would stay off ladders!

I don't know, you lost sympathy from me when you said you were "polishing your crank." ;)

Tough crowd...Buncha dirty old men.

Save that and remind her if she asks that you do a home repair like going up a ladder to clear leaves out of the rain gutters. Tell her it's just too dangerous, and go for a bike ride instead, all in the name of safety.

Using a bench grinder to polish your cranks has me a bit confused.

My wife is a professional artist (oil paints, some watercolors) and amateur ballerina. She long ago realized that I am a natural klutz, and there is little to be done about it.

^ Great responses up there.
Here's what one of my friends said about me: "You'll outlive us all if you don't kill yourself first." |

Probably with a polishing wheel instead of a grinding wheel on the one side.
That's what I was doing. I was moving the crank arm around when I tried to grind off my wrist. |
This is going to get really good with this last post, mental images are going down hill really fast now....................

I've raked some fingers like that. It's certainly a wake-up call.

your wife still has nice things to say about you. be glad. mine ran out a long time ago.

Some play golf and some polish their cranks. I don't pretend to understand everything in the universe. I just have confidence it will all be fine in the end.

You should spend more time skiing and riding. Crystal Mt was good yesterday - for a Spring ski day.
