Early birthday ride

I wanted to do a birthday ride for my 60th and some of the key players couldn't make next week, so we went a week early. Got about 25 friends to do 63 miles with 6300 feet of climbing. We went to My Baldy lodge where a friend had secretly stashed a cake the night before. The cake had a picture of me on it and I was quite surprised.
Here is the group at the start.

There is a short bike path before the highway.

Then comes hwy 39 for a while.

Lots of food at the lodge including the cake. Luckily there isn't a lot of climbing on the way back.

Great way to celebrate the day, I was overwhelmed.

Good to hear it turned out so well John! I didn't make it to Mt. Baldy Lodge for the party since we went up to Crystal Lake first. I bought a Coke at the Lodge before my ride up to the Ski Lifts. Then on the way down I stopped again to fill my bottles and saw Maria and Cary having drinks at the Lodge!

The ride back to Glendora was nice but uneventful. Ended up with 102 miles with 12,900 ft. of climbing.

Great riding with Laura on the Hwy 39 part too!
