This forum could use some young blood, literally?

"""researchers studying mice found that giving old animals blood from young ones can reverse some signs of aging"""

Edit: ^^^ better link.

Speculating about what happens under the obverse scenario -- why does the blood bank still want my blood?

I saw that. Sounds kind of interesting. I wonder if that will have an affect on what blood is preferred. Will blood/plasma banks pay more for younger blood? I'm sure people like the red cross will still take any blood they can get (except mine - they've been saying no to that for 15 years).

Maybe they'll start testing for GDF11 or institute age matching?!

There was a book that I read back in the early 80's about a group of older folks who had figured out how to convert blood from young people into a kind of "youth serum". They would befriend young couples without any other family and, ultimately, extract their blood for their nefarious purposes.

And I think anyone would be lucky to get a donation from anyone on this forum - we may not exactly be spring chickens but are at least healthy.

Hey, it works for Dracula! He's still alive, right?

This sure sounds encouraging. The news report I saw had a clear "Don't try this at home" warning at the end.
