What's your pet peeve about cycling?
I'll go first! Oh yea we will limit it to 5.But you could post again with another 5.
Cycling along the road and a fellow rider pulls up to chat with a rusty noises chain.
Cycling along and a rider comes up with that bike that is slipping between 3 rd and 4 the gear
Mountain biking and I'm going up hill and the downhiller is flying by me,really rude!
Riding in a busy park and a rider pulls up checks you out ,he's on a 3000 dollar bike stops pedaling and has you listen to his rear wheel clicking away,I mean really does this mean something?

I am usually pretty mellow when I'm riding. Except when someone gets indignant and starts chewing me out because I didn't wave or call out "On your left" before passing (leaving plenty of room.)

-Not enough women ride at night. Why is night riding almost exclusively a "Guy Thing"?
-Boston area winters.
-Brainless wonders who will not use a headlight at night. With the lighting technology available today,
plus the simple fact that you can get a light that will do the job at Walmart, there is simply no defense
for not using a headlight.
Really all I have at the moment.

If you get injured and can't ride, you quickly realize that being able get out on the bike is the main thing, and all the rest is small potatoes.

I enjoy the challenges. The only thing that can distract me from the enjoyment is a problem with the bicycle. So I do my best to keep my rides rock-solid dependable.

Here goes,
1. getting caught out in a storm, like this afternoon
2. flats, period (includes blow outs and punctures, they all bite)
3. speeding school bus drivers trying to meet the schedules the district imposes on them
4. logging trucks that drive on roads marked for no large trucks
5. newbies that post as if they knew a humorous post from a serious one, and don't.
That's about it. Riding is too much fun, and I get too much from it, to be mad or angry about it.
I could post more than two good things per gripe about bicycles and riding, I owe the fact I am mostly healthy to cycling, its just more than I want to type this late

3 things come to mind
1. My aging, near useless body that won't allow me to ride like I did when I was 20!
2. People who don't ride anymore but have expensive bikes and know their value but won't sell to me for practically nothing so I can flip them (the bikes) and make a fortune. (I also hate the guy I saw last week leaving a yard sale as I walked up. He was rolling away a beautiful Cannondale with a $20 price tag!)
3. When my daughter dropped me on the local MUP last month......I wouldn't have minded so much as she is 20 years younger, but I have a 24 speed aluminum steed and she was riding a 2 ton Schwinn single speed balloon tired battleship......Oh the humanity!!!

"Snobbish" cyclists. Yes, really. My son is just beginning to try bicycle racing, and all he has is an aluminum frame CF fork bike. He was basically made fun of by others in his most recent race. All others had CF frame "wonder" bikes. This is just class 5 racing...about the lowest level you can start at. So yea...bike snobs. Go eff yourselves.
