No goals except to ride lots, which I did. Just over 4K miles tracked.

I use Map my ride and rode 3409 last year. I hope to do more this year and improve my speed & skills. I have a granddaughter & daughter to ride with along with my regular riding friends so I am looking forward to 2015!

I have tracked miles for the 4 years I have been into this wonderful sport. This year I finally broke the 4,000 mile mark. I would have just as much fun riding without tracking, but I'm kind of a numbers guy. So it works for me. Starting this year post-surgery due to a tendon rupture. Had big plans for 2015. And still do. But you know, numbers will pale in comparison to the enjoyment of finally getting back on bike in a few/several weeks. Happy New Year all!!

My Speedo officially says:
1,643 miles
66,438 calories
6.9 kilos of fat burnt.
I'm estimating an additional 500 miles on my road bike that wasn't included in the speedo total, plus 300 miles on my cargo bike, giving me a total of between 2400 and 2500 miles.

I guess people enjoy different elements of cycling, and that's the way it should be. Some get motivation out of recording stats and using them to set goals and monitor performance, while others are just happy to ride. I'm one of the latter group in that I don't record mileage/speed/elevation gains etc. but just ride based on how I feel on the day, sometimes I push hard, others I amble. I don't actually regard cycling as a sport unless one is involved in competing head-to-head with others and regard my cycling as a recreational activity, other than the occasional shopping trip.
I do have a trip computer on one of my bikes, which was a Christmas present one year, but use it mainly for the clock and occasionally seeing how fast (or more accurately, slow) I'm going. I'm not sure that it's calibrated properly for the bike it's on. As I do a fair bit of off-road riding, mileage and speed are unimportant because of the variety of trail characteristics and conditions.
I would estimate that I do between 3500 and 4000 miles a year but could be out by a couple of hundred miles either way. I'll be happy if 2015 sees the same sort of mileage, but it could increase as I'll be doing a bit more road riding where the miles add up a lot faster.

I'm a numbers guy, so all of those metrics keep me fired up.
Something fun I like to do is periodically open Google maps and set a starting point as my house, then try to find points that are the same distance away as I've ridden that year. Or maybe half way there, so I can think to myself, "I rode to Cancun and back this year"
Stuff like that keeps it fun for me personally.

I "Stravaed" every ride, even the commutes in 2014. I'm just a geek.
Year end bicycle stats for 2014:
Curtis (cccorlew)
Road bike: 4178
Commuter bike 3077
Total: 7,255 miles
322,087 feet of climbing (about 61 miles of climbing straight up)
593 hours in the saddle
That's about 74 eight-hour days
Tricia (MyLilPony)
Road bike: 4779 miles
Commuter bike: 1800ish (based on commute days and distance)
Total: 6579 miles

I'm pleased with all that I have accomplished in 2014, and look forward to continued growth and achievement in 2015. Having gone from a high of 308lbs (10/2008), to 267lbs (12/2013), to my present weight of 195lbs (12/2014), I feel like "The Little[r] Engine That CAN".

6,503 miles for 2014 with 8 centuries. That's my second best mileage and a new record for centuries.
I started 2015 with a whopping 31 miles, today, the last three miles of which were in a light rain at about 36 degrees F. Winter sucks.

Did a bit better this year than last year. I had about 50, non-scheduled days of the year where I didn't ride due to weather or vacation. I did manage 9,541 miles this year with about a foot-and-a-half of climbing. Remember, I'm in Florida.

I’m as others not a mileage slave, in my case Km, if I do a 30.km pedal loop from home that will include several Km of decent hill climb which is far more strenuous than just flat pedaling. Also my annual total includes about 20% of off-road farm gravel trails, so here 30.Km is a good run out on my Scott hardback. I’ve missed pedaling for several weeks & occasionally the odd months for multitude of reasons.
I use Runstatic bike for the GPS maps, but I still have the wheel mounted Cat-eye.

I belong to Strava, so keep track of miles there. Plus, just for my own amusement, I keep track on an excel spreadsheet on my home computer.
Total Miles for 2014: 11,885. Total Elevation gain: 689,327 feet. Total number of rides: 318. The scary part is hours cycling: 888 hours and 40 minutes (about 37 days!).
Of all that, 30 rides were centuries, 7 were double centuries. I also commute to and from work several days a week. Total commuting miles: 2,329.
Hope everyone has a wonderful New Year!

I just started an Access database with exports from Garmin Connect. I will need to add records to it for the rides I did using only the Strava app on my phone. While I do that, and refresh myself on Access queries and reports, I can create a quick Excel spreadsheet from Strava to get my totals. I am guessing, from what I recall, it will be over 7000 miles.

I've never really paid too much attention comparing one year with the next, however all the posts above made me curious.
I use RideWithGPS, mostly so that I can see on a map where I've been on my rides.
.......... Miles ... Feet ....... No. Rides
2014 ... 2934 ... 148,095 ..... 112
2013 ... 2670 ... 138,793 ...... 98
No particular plans to try and beat 2014 - just want to ride for the enjoyment of it.

2,600 on the roads at end of year. Happy with that as it is my first year on a road bike, that along with nearly 3 months out for a bad accident on the bike and reduced mileage for the last two month of this year ( still recovering and walking with a bad limp at present) so happy and even with the accident loving it big time.

I have been tracking my mileage since I took up cycling in 2003. As the end of the season approaches , it gives me that little bit extra motivation to go just a little bit farther. 2014 I recorded the most miles, 3660, since I started. I am not fast, don't race, just get out on my days off and enjoy the view from the saddle. 2014 saw me do a 5 day tour of the Driftless Area of NE Iowa on a loaded touring bike, true Americana on great rural roads! Looking forward to what 2015 brings!

Made my goal of 3,600 miles back in Nov. and finished the year with 4,100 miles longest ride was 83 miles, going to cut back on the number of rides per week this year between work and family something has to give. kept track on bike journal then strava going to stick with strava this year.
