I purposely made my bikes low maintenance so I don't have to do much tinkering. Too busy building wheels for other people to mess with my own. Satisfies my hankering for tinkering.

After seeing how nice it looks with the cages and flip offs, I went ahead and ordered the Chris King head set. I'll post another picture when I get the bike back. Had me even more anxious for warm weather, I want to get out and ride!

New cables on Roubaix between rides. Lots of cleaning and polishing.

During the winter months, my bikes get the spa treatment - washes, waxes, tune-ups, tires and a few upgrades. Can't wait to get them out once the salt and sand are washed away from the roads - shouldn't be long now, February is over!

I'll be interested in seeing the CK head set installed and on reading how you like it. That is one up grade I am seriously considering doing to my CAAD 10. I think your choice is a good, sound one, and not just for the aesthetics.

Today I put new brake pads on my Surly LHT. Went with Kool Stop Salmon pads, after reading how so many others swear by them. I was amazed at how much junk was embedded in the old pads! I believe this should end the squealing I used to get from the front brakes, we'll see.

My bikes are all good so I just bought an old Raleigh Randonneur for £100 as a do-up project for the next couple of months. A lot of work, but a great bike and looking forward to riding it in the summer.

I have the shifters (DT's!) and cables off the Cannondale Criterium for some tweaking and tuning. Other than this, nothing is left to do except moving the Centurion trainer bike out to the shop.

Got the Colossal back from the shop, headset indeed does finish the look off for me. I put on a new set of pedals, too. Ultegra 6800, black so no more shiny silver on the bike. Warm weather (above freezing!) has arrived, and with Daylight Savings beginning, serious riding can commence.

Thanks for putting up with my blathering on the upgrades. I'll be quiet now!

Did a full clean polish and tune up. And I finally did the cosmetics just as I have wanted them to be. For me the yellow just makes her pop.

Cant disagree with that. I always wonder what the season will bring to the shop. Last year was a memorable one.

As for what "time" it is....time to hit the road. Hopefully this week. I dont look forward to my appointment with the hills but they are my friends.

Agree with your sentiments about hills. I'm heading out on the local trails which has the best climbing near my home. They may not be completely open but I'll take my drop bar mtb to deal with the ice and snow.
