Bike Fit Help - Too Stretched Out?

Hello everyone,

Just wanted some general guidance on this fit. I have been doing a good deal of commuting and don't necessarily feel pain but I'm utilizing the hoods more and "feel" stretched. However, this could just be what I "feel" and I may simply need to get used to it. Opinions?

Thank you all!

May be a bit stretched. To check, keep your hands in the position they are on the hoods, but slide them back a couple cm, see how that feels. (If you do that, and notice your speed/power increases, then you're DEFINITELY too stretched.) My first thought, though, is the seat appears to be too high.

+1

I'd do a re-fit... starting from the shoe placement on the pedals.

Thank you both! My seat has been lowered ever so slightly (to get a slight bend in the knee at bottom of stroke). I did a fore/aft fit w/ plumb line and it's pretty spot on (knee is possibly a cm behind center of pedal). I've had some people tell me I look slightly stretched and others tell me I'm fine. I tried to compare my back to other riders. If it matters, I use this bike for commuting and never go past the hoods.

Stem Purchase selecting for Shorter is how you bring the reach to the bars in ..

You can also select one that also angles Upward..

You have a Quill stem. Available in that style Nitto makes some that have a Long quill , the vertical part and various lengths of the Horizontal Part .

In addition retaping your bars , the brake levers can be mounted further up the drop, curve,

and the bars rotated upwards so the ramp is level making the whole upper portion of the handlebar a comfortable place for your hands ,

and thus placing them further back than just reaching the brake lever Hoods.

Rotating upward, the bars in the stem clamp is the free part ..

In addition to make you feel better so you can use the nearer upper section of the handlebars , you can buy another inline mounted
brake lever ... the cable continues through it, but you spread the housing when pulling the top Mounted additional Lever ..

Example : https://www.universalcycles.com/shopp...87&category=10

then your hands can stray from hovering over the brake levers , by having 2 places to do that.

Stem is 90mm (down from 120). It's not so much that I actually am stretching. I feel like I am but again, I'm not usually on the brake hoods and thus may not be stretched at all. I'm strictly speaking if I in fact LOOK stretched or not based on the photos.

To me, you don't look stretched, you look too upright. I would lower the stem half way and try it that way.

How about the drops? Can/do you use that position?
