Comparative study on the Reach on 2 sizes of Merida Bike

I have a technical query on the Reach and Stack in the geometry of MERIDA RIDE 500 2017 model

I own a Merida ride 500 52 size (2015 model) which i am contemplating to change to size 54 as i have had a few injuries regarding bike fit and i feel 54 would be the right size for me

I was analysing the geometry of all the bikes to suit my body measurements and have shortlisted Domane SL 56 size, Kestrel RT 100 56 size, Merida ride 54 size based on stack and reach i want from a bike.

Merida ride 500 2015 model 52 size which i own has a stack and reach of 570mm and 377mm respectively according to Merida website
(https://www.merida-bikes.com/en_int/...-500-2239.html )

Whereas the Merida ride 500 2017 model 54 size has a Stack and Reach of 591mm and 367 according to the merida website in the below link
( https://www.merida-bikes.com/en_int/...-500-6609.html )

The geometry difference between the two bikes and the sizes (52 and 54) vary only in the top tube size, seat tube angle, head tube angle and Head tube size

The head tube is 190mm in 54 and 170 mm in 52 which accounts for the increase in stack from 570 to 591 between the 52 and 54 sizes which i agree....

But the reach is said to have decreased by 10 mm in 54 size (377 to 367) from 52 size as per the website. Because the seat tube angle and the head tube angle has changed in 54 size by 0.5 degrees (increase in head tube angle and decrease in seat tube angle by 0.5degrees), it has has effectively made the top tube longer from 540mm to 550mm. This by no way can decrease the reach by 10mm from 377mm to 367mm. In Fact the reach should only remain the same.

For a comparison i am enclosing a pic of comparative CAD drawing of the geometry of both the bikes with the geometry measurements taken from the above links from merida international website

image sharing sites

Kindly someone clarify on how the Reach of the merida ride 500 54 size is being listed as 367mm on the website when the head tube angle has not drastically changed acutely effectively bringing in the headtube nearer.
I clearly think it is a typo error on the website , Instead of listing the reach as 376mm they have wrongly put it as 367.

I want to know this as i am planning to swap a 54 size frame in my 52 size Merida ride 500 as i have reach and stack issues in my current bike.

Kindly reply

"reach " in CONI * is from the plumb line thru the BB forward, , setback from that line back.
