So I swapped out an annoying setback (but creaking) seatpost with the nice two bolter from my mtb. No setback. This made the roadbikes cockput a cm shorter. Then I rode 100 miles over the hills on it last night. Ouch. 1cm makes a big difference. Play mix and match with my spare parts and got all my bikes back to comfortable again. Interesting though that an increase in length of the cockpit demands a change in angle in the bars and can even mean an extra spacer under the stem to get it feeling right. They are all so interconnected one thing means changing three others. Learned a bunch.
