carbon fork w/zerts - or - hydraulic disc brakes - if you had to choose
Was looking at Specialized Ariel hybrid with disc brakes because as an old gal just getting back into riding, I thought the 60mm travel in the fork would be kinder to the body.
Have old bike I'm getting back into the hang of things and getting fitter so I can keep up with slow group rides.
Discovered today that old bike has tires more narrow than Ariel, more like 700x28 Vita I'm on 700x32, Ariel is 700x38.
So in reading today looks like Vita might be a better choice.
Long term goals are to go on group rides with LBS groups weekly.
Almost all riding will be on pavement.
All thoughts are valued. Thank you.

Unless you're planning some meaningful trail and off road, the Vita is the one to choose, it's lighter and just as comfy on the pavement as an Ariel. It also will feel easier to steer and pedal with the lighter narrower tires.

Im OK with My Bike Friday with Cable disc BB7 brakes 406-47 tires
Low top bar so an easy swing of the old legs getting on/off.
