I have to go back and add new photos, but imagine bullhorns and a black stem. And no pump.
There's your problem.

Nah, the real issue is you need a wheel with normal spokes in it. Those aerospokes will screw the whole thing up.

Seriously though, do what you can to get less weight (and leverage, so bring what weight you do have closer in) in front of the headset.

It happened with all my other wheels as well, though. I'll be building some H+S archetypes soon, so that will help at least.

Hard to believe this nonsense has gone on for 6 pages....

My suggestion, put your hands on the bars, your feet on the pedals, and ride the damn thing like it was designed to be ridden...
If you want to do no hand trackstands, buy a unicycle.

You do the no-hand-tarck-stand so you can write down the fixie sqrls number that's riding next to you.

I used my friends bike - Cinelli Bolt with thomson 90mm stem and cinelli mash bullhorns. front wheel was a velocity aero. and that bike had that same problem. totally different geometry.

What the hell?!

Guess that means your bike's wheel flop is within normal bounds. You'll just have to HTFU and roll with it.

(or not roll, as the case may be.)

I bet the headset of the bike you CAN do no-handed stands on is too tight, making it way easier to pull off. And all the other bikes you can't do it on are setup properly, you just need to keep practicing.

Update - I bought a soma shotwell stem half the length of my previous stem which was 120mm and the no handers are a LOT easier. Still a challenge, but drastically easier.

Well that's good. Did you also totally screw up the way the bike fits and feels by dropping down to a 6 cm stem? I'd hate to think that just to be able to do this one thing which is a small part of your bike ride, you made it no longer fit while riding, which is a much bigger part of the time you spend on the bike. Makes me think you need to go one size bigger so you can still fit on it, but maybe not, maybe this actually fits you and then you're all good. Only you know for sure.
