Which fixie is better??
Hello right now I really can't decide which fixed gear bike I should get. I'm new to biking so I need help
Are these bikes even worth the buy? Do they come in good quality parts? Are they light weight?
Also.if you guys wanna suggest a bike for me feel free but my budget is around $250
Ebay is a crapshoot, worse if a noob.
Wally world has them now too, since its Trendy , might be craptastic, but it's something .
IF you are not in a hurry i would watch Craigslist for someone who bought one and doesnt like it. Happens all the time with fixies. I would pay up to half the original cost.
I found this one the guy never rode it he did somthing to the paint on the front wheel but I dont care about that. Orignal cost is about 299, I paid 160 for it,,I love it. Their are guys on this list that think all these fixies priced around 300 bucks are junk. I got a Pure Fix, I love it, doesnt seem like junk at all. Had it for 6 weeks I have done several 20 to 25 mile rides and it is nothing but Pure Fun (-:

NJS regulates the Japanese Keirin Racing scene and parts that meet those specifications
are all at an equal very High Level ..
they race on Shimano and Campag track components , and others on the tracks in Japan.
where it is treated like horse races .. there is betting windows to win money on the results.
I second CL, just keep looking.
OP, all the advice given was good. Bottom line, its up to you. Im new to fixed gear, but have been riding anything and everything for as long as I can remember. I did have an issue with my weight (306lbs), so I had for drop weight to get on a fixie.

Pure Fix is a basic fixie as all fixies are, but you get to customize it all at one place. Some have said you can get a cheap frame and get parts here and there. I wasnt willing to do that.
So get what youre comfortable with. I ♡ my PF
What's your area? I'll give a look on CL, see if there's anything worth your time...
Pure Fix is an OK bike. I occasionally sell them to people looking for something cheap or looking both cheap and SS. Really at this point with "fixies" being so popular a lot of junk is out there and eBay is a great place to find some of it as are many websites with cheap bikes.
My first fixed gear/SS was and still is a Specialized Langster, that I bought off one of our mechanics for a good price and he had upgraded to sealed hubs. I am doing some upgrading myself with Zipp Vuka Alumina bars and SRAM TT levers (non carbon). I have had the bike for a two months and like it well enough even though it is aluminum with a carbon fork (steel is real). I would spend a bit more and get the better bike.
Better still find an old lugged steel road bike with semi-horizontal dropouts and make it your own.
The more you put into the bicycle the more you will want to ride it, at least that is what has worked for me. Granted a P.F. is many times better than lé Huffy (a boutique french brand) and similar brands to that but save some money and get a better bike. Maybe look around for some closeouts and clearance stuff at your LBS(or major retailer in your area) or online.
