How much $ should I be looking to pay?
Hey guys. I got a flat tire over the weekend and figure it's time to upgrade.
I have a Citizen Tokyo, and in a box I have a new 11-28t freewheel to replace the stock 14-28t, as well as 100 psi Kenda tires with Sunlite tubes to replace the stock 45 psi Kendas.
I'm hoping it won't cost more than say, $50 in labor to get it done, but has anyone gotten similar work done and can give me ballpark estimates before I call a bunch of LBS's?

In Minneapolis the standard fee to change a tire is between $7 and $10. To swap the freewheel would maybe be another $10 at my local coop, so figure $30 at least. If it were me, I'd buy a set of tire levers and a freewheel tool and just do it myself.

Thanks! I'll attempt to do it myself then. Worse comes to worst I'll take my bike to the LBS.
I bought Pedro's tire levers, Park Tool FR-5 freewheel removal tool and a chainwhip for less than $20 shipped.
I work on my own car so I should be able to work on my own bike, too, right? Right.

FWIW, to change a tube, tire and/or rim strip/tape, we currently charge $8 labor. We charge $10 for bikes with training wheels, pegs, etc. If the customer brings in just the wheel, we charge $7. If we have the tire, tube or rim strip/tape in stock, we generally will not use customer-supplied parts.
