3/32" 11-speed KMC chain on a 2-speed Brompton?

Will it fit okay? I'm guessing purely from the 3/32" it should though I guess an 11-speed chain should be pretty darn narrow. Thanks for any advice.

I recently investigated the issue to replace the slightly worn-out chain on my six-speeder.

Turns out the 2/6-speed Brommie requires a 3/32" for 6-8-[strike]cog[/strike]sprocket cassettes, eg. PC 10/830/850/870/890.

No... you want 8 'speed'.. 11 speed stuff is a lot thinner than 3/32" .. its packing 11 cogs in the space of 8.

though you could Measure , yourself, and confirm .. (or doing so first, have not needed to ask)

you may have someone in SEA making a 3 cog cluster in the place of 2, in Titanium, that is different than normal Brompton.

I use a 15t from the Sachs 6 speed [2 cog] Mk3 series production. & 3/32nd Chain.

Got a Whipperman, old style , full bushing chain As I just use 1 cog,

they have a longer wear life than bushingless derailleur chains.

For all derailer chains, the inner width is the same. Where the different speed chains differ is the maximum outer dimension. So technically, any derailer chain 7-11sp will fit the Brompton sprockets. Due to the narrower outer width, it is not clear if shifting will be affected. Maybe the shifting action won't push far enough on the narrower chain. Or maybe just set the adjustment a bit further to compensate.

My guess is it will work. There is info out there of mods with 3 sprockets instead of 2, requiring the use of a 10sp chain.

But but but... 8sp chains are a dime a dozen, so why use a more expensive 11-speed?

Thanks so much for the answers... the reason would be three-fold, and normally I wouldn't get it but it just seems like a fortunate coincidence.

1) friend was selling it cheap
2) it's the perfect color combination for my B
3) it's infinitesimally lighter of weight (a non-reason, perhaps)

it's still almost double the cost of a regular chain but I'm cool with that. And I understand 11-speed chains don't last as long as their 8/9/10 brethren.

Not sure about 11 speed; but I've been using a Shimano Ultegra 10 speed for a while now with no issues.
Bike is a 2013 S6L-X with a Shimano Dura Ace chainring/wheel(also 10 speed). I try to clean and lubricate
at least once a month(more when rainy); and it seems to last a while:

Just wanted to follow up if there's any confirmation of an 11speed chain on a 2Speed brompton working or not

It'll work just fine. You'll just need to change it more frequently, due to it being a thinner chain.
