My Brompton Anniversary
Facebook reminded me this morning that I bought my Brompton from a friend three years ago today (Facebook knows everything). It changed my life as much as anything has in recent years. For two years it was my only bike, and quickly became my primary, and pretty much only, means of transportation. I rode it for everything, to commute, to get around town, and for joy rides up to 70 mile and more. I've put just shy of 8000 miles on it since January, 2013, when I started tracking miles.
Last year I bought a Tern, and these days I tend to use that for longer rides, so now I put fewer miles on the Brompton. Nevertheless, I still ride it often, and it's an indispensable part of my life; I wouldn't want to live life in the city without it. To the extent bicycling has become integral to my life, it's because of this bike.
Since today is an anniversary, I felt the need to share.
