I have many bikes that I love

My folding bike is a Downtube. I use it for riding in our local park and to go shopping local. My other bikes are a BMX, a Schwinn Stingray, a custom made Chopper, a custom made 1974 Schwinn LowRider, a Stealth carbon fiber 27 speed bike, and about 8 more older Schwinn bikes that I do not ride. I love to work on bikes when I have the time.

Wish I could get my hands on a speedx Leopard, but my Dahon has served me well enough and money is tight. Before I got the foldy I inhereted a Specialized Tarmac. That had an incident my first week in comm. college and the frame and back wheel were unsalvageable after a car crushed it backing up into the bike rack and taking out two other bicycles, it drove off. I kept the front wheel and handlebars I put on the Dahon along with the seat and the utegra 6800 crankset and front derailleur. It didn't cost anything other than the handlebar extension mounts that I bought locally in an opportunistic happenstance. And then there is still my Trek Fuel that technically was my first bike(late road bloomer). I gave it a tune up, but it's honestly been sitting on my room wall due to lack of space and time to take it out with studies. It's nice having a folding bike that I can just bring into the class I'm taking and commute between college and the Uni. No one ever suspects the bag I carry is a bicycle. No worries of it being stolen, which has been a problem on campus at Uni. I have a feeling it will be with me for a long time.

At this point I have a Fuji track bike, a Surly steam roller with a SA 3 speed, a Centurion Accordo single speed with Schwalbe studded tires for icy conditions, 1982 Holdsworth special modified with 3 chain rings for 21 to 108 gear inches, a Xootr Swift and a S Brompton with single speed and 3 speed options. At this point it is usually the Swift and the Brompton although once a week or so I'll ride one of the others. the Brompton has fenders and carries a lot more cargo than any of the others are set up to do so it is definitively the choice for those days when the streets are wet or there is a load to carry or if i travel by car to someplace I would like to have a bike. The swift allows for better climbing and is a quicker ride. I think with studded tires it might do fairly well on snowy icy streets although i haven't tried that yet.

Only one for now - my relatively new Tern Node D16. Sold the Novara Safari 700cc bike and bought this. Having the ability to keep it in the back of my small truck provides me with the opportunity to ride at work from time to time and with its 24" wheels it's larger and less twitchy than the smaller wheeled bikes. I would prefer to have 3 or 4 bikes but my wife would not be amused if I started accumulating a stable.

I go through phases of bike styles.
Earlier this year I was all into my Mongoose Argus Expert, but sold it to a friend overseas so am fatbikeless now.
I still use my Brompton for urban/post office runs and travel, but have been riding my old GT Forte road bike for exercise.
Truthfully I ride gas powered scooters more than anything else, but they are for transportation instead of recreation.
