I believe smallwheeler was knocking the bike for the copyright /design issues rather than the bike.

Don't the current Dahons use a different folding and locking mechanism? I don't know their history well enough to comment on their older designs. In one sense, it's similar to the Montague, but the pivoting and locking axes and mechanism are different. I'll bet it would stand up to a patent challenge from Montague.

Other than pivoting around the same point on both brands, the methodology is different.

"Pivoting" as in the main frame rotating on a portion of the seat tube to fold Jur. Let's not get into semantics and keep it simple. After all, another forum member insinuated that the brand in question ripped off that folding mechanism from Montegue.
