Modifying a Nexus7 hub. Get rid of coaster brake.
Hello group.
Hub gears are discussed from time to time and often peopel do not like coaster brakes. I like them but on the right bike. In my work with my new trike build I am curently using an old Nexus 7 just to find out if I like the trike , how much I`ll use it and what gears I really want. I have to use at least one chain tensioner so coaster brake is not an option but all mu spare hubs have coaster brake. I tend to brake without thinking and mess up my chainline.
I have searched the net before without finding a solution. When searching again now I came upon a thread in a forum describing it.

I now find there are even films on Youtube:

I just did the conversion yesterday and it works great. I remowed the brass brake shoe innside the hub and cut off (angle grinder) the brake arm.
If you do it it is of course on your own risk
Pix later today. Did not uppload them yet.
