Your thoughts and experience with Ebay Titanium parts for Bromptons

Does anybody here have any experience with purchasing and fitting the following titanium parts available thru eBay or from overseas..etc? Parts such as

Seatpost
Handlebars
Stem
Fork
Rear triangle
Etc...

Looking for notes on fit and quality especially.

Here is a listing of aftermarket sellers and manufacturers that I've come upon...

1. bikegang on eBay
2. https://www.facebook.com/josephkuosac/
3. All Products - Brompfication
4. https://bikegang.ecwid.com/#

Been using a ti Brompfication seatpost for 4 years. Fit is excellent and has been reliable.
Have done some long rides with it; inlcuding some 100 mile events.
Sadly Brompfication closed shop; but you might still find their products in some stores.

I was concerned that the Brompfication's seat clamp would damage the carbon rails
of a Selle Anatomica I got. I bought a discontinued H & H ti post. Fit is not so good;
a bit narrower/smaller diameter. Forcing me to tighten post clamp more. Have done
just a few rides so far:

Thanks for the reply 1nterceptor. I'm considering either a seat post or a front fork for now.

By the way, we vacationed in NYC and are on our way back now to Michigan. Had a blast, brought the brommie, did a tour of most of the bike shops in East and lower Mahatten. Also did a lot of riding in Brooklynn. Missed out on B-fold, since he was closed this past Wednesday for some reason.

At NYCe I got a chance to pickup a 2 spd Superlight. Now I want one! I was surprised to find all those shops I visited carrying Bromptons now. It's become like the Harleys of the city bike world, eh?

Next time I plan on touring the shops on the West Side.

I've had 2 Ti seatposts, the latest one with narrowing flared top and slight flared bottom like stock, I prefer that after having the other kind 1st. Both are prefect fit. Got it on eb for about US$80, or something close to that.

Not had anything else in Ti from Brommies.

Not Ti, but I bought an aftermarket clamp and bolt set for the hinges and was horrified by how carelessly it was designed. The bolts were out of alu and thinned with no good justification in such a way that an impact could make them snap. If I put them on, I would be waiting for an accident to happen.

I bought that set because there were some nominal pluses to the design, but from the photos and the description accompanying the offer you could not tell the fundamental flaws. This can serve as a warning that the aftermarket parts can represent an ad-hoc design with no testing employed and no serious company standing behind them. A serious company would never put out such a dangerous product to the market.

As another example over time I learned to understand what makes a well designed rear rack. Some of the aftermarket Brompton racks can serve as examples of a design that you might come up with if you were just starting with little understanding.

Titanium Small Parts

These aren't seatposts, forks or other parts you mentioned. But... titanium hardware isn't bad! I've been slowly replaceing nuts and bolts on my folders with titanium parts from Toronto Cycles: Titanium Bolts, Titanium Bolt, Titanium Fasteners, Ti Bolts . These are especially nice on my "winter" bike, because Ti doesn't corrode in the salt used on Chicago streets. I started with the hardware for brake shoes: the spacers, spherical washers and cap nuts look like new after several winters... while the steel studs on the shoes were rusted to *****. :-) Chainring retaining bolts are nice too. Probably not significant weight savings, sadly!

BFold is closed Wed. & Sun. They're a decent shop lots of demo Brooks saddles for testing;
including that ISM seat in my photo above. They even lent me their lights:

Yes, I'm surprised too there are so much Brompton shops in NYC. Don't forget to jump on
the Hudson Greenway/westside path on your next visit:
