Looking to add handlebar bag and rear rack bag to my Dahon Speed TR, Any suggestions as to what you like.

Check bike nashbar for the rack bag they have good products and prices especially on their name branded products . I like their stuff. Also a handlebar bag attached with velcro should be best for a folder i tried a clip on clip off style it was a pain and affected folding.

I have a Madden set kinda like the ones here:

they work for me, but barely have enough heel clearance. Be sure to test out any pannier, because due to the very short chainstay length on dahons (and other folders like bike friday) heel strike is a big problem. the cutaways on these panniers minimizes the problem, but just be aware that panniers on a rear rack will be prone to this problem on a dahon.

also - I would seriously consider fitting a low front rack to the back and putting a pannier on the front wheel. This will improve your handling, rather than compromise it as a handlebar bag can if there's much weight in it. Bike friday makes a front rack that would probably work on the dahons. I will be testing out this theory this weekend.

That is a very good idea .Let us know how the front rack affects folding. :D

I also saw these, which look pretty trick and very stable.

might be just the thing for you. i would call them guys and see what the recommended weight limit is before I ponied up the 60 clams. You also need to get the clamps for an unreasonable $10, but I suppose you could swing those at the hardware store. might be a challenge to put on standard front panniers, but if may bike friday rack fails, this will be my next try.

Update!!
The Bike friday front rack fits like a charm and does NOT affect folding whatsoever. I will post pics tonight or tomorrow AM. It is a bit of a trick to get it attached to the fork, and I would like to trim the front brace (due to Dahon's narrower hub size) but otherwise I am VERY pleased. **Note** front racks should be evenly loaded to have a neutral effect on handling. I forgot this and was reminded on my multi-stage (multi awesome) commute this AM.
More to come . . .
