I hope this isn't out of turn to ask - (please say if you think it is), but I'm doing a charity cycle ride around London next month (17th July) on my recently restored folding Raleigh Twenty and wondered if anyone here would sponsor me? It's a good cause - Leukaemia Research - and the more I can raise the better.

If it's not your thing - fine! - I'm not trying to hold the forum to ransom but if you want to you can donate directly via this handy page:
[edit] please read the previous exclamation mark as a disarmingly open exclamation and not as a shout

Next year I hope to do the altogether more ambitious London to Brighton run; I actually might have done this year if I was indeed a bit more organised and had applied in time.

Anyway - I've imposed on your time enough; Thanks in advance for anyone that feels moved to contribute.

Touchy ,touchy ,did you really need that exclamation point? It reads like you are shouting.

Hey Little Pixel ... I didn't realise you are a brit ! .. The raleigh 20 conversions seemed to be a trendy New York/US thing ;-) and i just assumed thats where you were.

Always up for a nice charity ride, especially if I can get the familly along - depends on dates and commitments (of 4)..... I see tho you need sponsorship, will check the sponsorship box.

Must be lost in the UK -> US translation - sorry for any misunderstanding - I kinda thought the tentative nature of the whole thing might have helped in not coming to the conclusion you did - the exclamation mark was to emphasise how meek I feel about even raising the subject...

Hey - I suppose you'd have to know my speech patterns to know this. I would have used capitals if I'd been shouting - and why would I have been doing that?

Anyway - fair comment though I did think I had chosen my words carefully. Any chance you'll sponsor me?

Actually Welsh by birth, then the north east, cornwall and now London. These conversions do seem to be a US thing - so I thought I should get a little pride back into our own bike marque. no-one seems to be into Raleighs anymore.... I can be seen riding the 8 mile round trip from Crouch End, N.London to Angel, Islington every day on it. Much fun!

If you can make it - drop me a line - if not - any sponsorship would be appreciated though I don't want to go on and on about it.

Regards
Huw
