Shifters? Help...

As most of you know by now I don't know much about bikes but this forum has increased my knowledge quite a bit. I own a downtube VIIIFS (the full suspension model) I wanted to upgrade the shifter. This bike has a twist shifter (I don't like it because the grips aren't that big so my hands do shift it automatically sometimes). I was planning on going to the other style shifters (the one with the knob)....??? I don't know what they are called.

What does everyone think?

Thanks for any feedback!

If the fact, that you sometimes shift unvoluntarily is the only thing you don't like about them, than how about moving the shifter a little further towards the stem and replacing the grip with a full size grip...

True. I don't think I will change it now but really want to change the stem to a better looking and more comfortable one. Does anyone have any recommendations on a brand or where I can get one from?

Thanks
