I'll take two Bike Friday New World Tourists please

....and make that to go. ;)

Placed an order for two NWTs. It's all over but the waiting! :o

Here's a basic run down of the two, one for me and the other for my wife.

Crankset: Shimano 105
Chainrings: 54/42/30

Rear Hub: Shimano XT

Rear Der: Shimano Deore
Brakes: Avid Single Digit 7 V-brakes
Wheels: 32 DT spoke 14g
Rims: Sun CR-18

Handle bar: Mine: Splitting Kalloy anatomic drop Hers: Splitting BF Touring H
Levers: Mine: Dia-Compe 287V road Hers: Avid Speed Dial 7
Shifters: Mine: Dura Ace BarCon bar end shifters Hers: SRAM Attack Grip Shift

We'll buy the saddles and pedals on the side.

We're buying these for loaded touring and I've geared them low. From 17.5" to about 92" and if that's too low at the top I'll just throw on a bigger ring later. Capreo couldn't go this low and we won't need gearing as high as it produces.

I'm not set on a color yet and will let them know in a few days. There's over 14 of them and I'm done looking at the sample photos for a while! :crash: Delivery is said to be about a month out. In a couple of days I intend to disappear from this forum so I can forget about them until they arrive. :roflmao:

Congratulations...Bike Friday is real good at meeting their delivery commitment. Both of mine were delivered a day earlier than they said...It's worth the wait.....

Enjoy your new ride. My Pocket Gnu has been a blast since day one!

>>I'm not set on a color yet>>

I went for the Premium White with black decals...it won a split decision over British Racing Green.

I like the gearing choice. I have the same cassette, and I just changed out my Pocket Rocket chainrings from 53/42/28 to 54/44/28. That gives me about 18" to 100" with the larger wheels of the PR. I didn't want to go bigger than the 54 so that I could fit it in the suitcase without pulling the crank.
