Downtube VIII "Tech Support"

Hi all,

I just received a 2005 Downtube VIII that I bought on eBay. Anyone know where I can locate a list of Downtube retailers in my area? I think I need a little tutorial on adjustments and folding the thing up. I've never owned a bike I needed to adjust or fold and the directions aren't idiot proof. Anyone else have this problem?? Specifically, I can't get the mid bar or handlebar stem joints to fold.

welcome to the fold

I am sure somebody with a DT will be here shortly and give you a heads up.
Does the bike has some kind of security knob or sumpin you have to push in before it folds ?

Adjustments and folding

Any of the adjustments that would be needed can be made at any bike shop. As for folding the middle of the top tube stand to right of the bike & twist the silver lever to loosen the joint lock and then swing it to right away from the bike, then with it perpendicular to the frame push upwards to release the catch and tug lever towards yourself. The joint should break and the front of the bike should swing left. The joint at the bottom of the neck works the same way.
