The hardest and longest step in folding my Giant 1/2way is fiddling with the bungee that secures the bike halves. It has to be unclipped from its clasp and threaded around past the front brake cable and re-clipped to the clasp. Doing that takes far more time than dropping the handlebar and folding the main tube in half. When unfolding I almost never remember to clip the bungee and have to stop and do it before it gets wrapped in the spokes. The cumulative loss of cool points is beginning to worry me. I've never seen the magnetic system that Dahon's use but given that the Halfways wheels touch at the axles and that under those end caps is plenty of space for mounting magnets I think I could fashion some kind of magnetic closure? I was wondering if anyone else had idea's along those lines. Some details of how the Dahon's do it might be useful. Anyone who knows anything about magnets. For instance, do I use two magnets of opposite polarity or one magnet and a steel plate. What strength magnet? What would the best way of securing the magnet in the wheel be: friction tight or epoxy. Just fishing for ideas. Thanks.
