Address for the Strida 5 shop?

Hey Makeinu,

Go on, please don't keep it a secret, what's the address of this shop for Strida 5s?

I don't want to get the shop owner in trouble with the manufacturer so PM me for the address.

I was referred to this shop by forum member Shilun (Martin). They are selling Strida5s for 14000TWD and they are very willing to ship anywhere you like.

Shipping via FedEx/UPS/DHL is very expensive and the standard box is too big to ship via regular international mail (EMS or Surface). Fortunately, with the seat and rack removed, the Strida will fit into a smaller box in order to meet the size/weight requirements for standard international mailing. The shop owner said he would gladly repack the bike in this way.

I am still waiting for him to give me a quote for shipping via Chungwa Post (Taiwan's national postal service), but judging from the Chunghwa Post website (which hasn't been updated in 10 years) it will probably be about 30USD for Surface Mail and 90USD for EMS (from Taiwan to USA). The only other expense for US importers is a 6.5% custom's fee. For people in the US it should probably be about the same price to get a Strida 5 from Taiwan as it is to get a Strida 3 from strida.ca.

I'll let you know once I get the actual numbers from Jack (it takes him a while to respond to my emails...I wonder if perhaps he needs someone else to translate them?).

[EDIT: removed actual address. PM me for details]

It may have been better to include this information in a private e-mail to Chop. Anyway, let's hope there's no fall-out from this.

If you think I should I can still remove it.

Anyway, I did previously PM this info to Chop. I thought that Chop made this thread because he wanted me to share this info with everyone else.

For some reason the PM didn't (& hasn't arrived) if there is a possibility that this could cause a problem remove it before it does, thanks a lot by the way!

The shop owner never got back to me on the shipping price via Chungwa Post, which is strange because he even went through the trouble of unboxing one a taking pictures to show me what he would have to do in order to meet the Chungwa Post requirements. Perhaps the email was swallowed by the internet.

Did you ever end up pursuing this Chop?

Unfortunately my car (shock horror! Yes I've got a car too!) failed it's MOT to the tune of £1200!
Only use it to get to our garage in England & to pick up my kids, so most of the probs were 'standing damage' also got my tiny bubblecar in for respray ready to sell it as I need funds to buy a traditional narrowboat (my first 'home' of my own!)
So I'm afraid new bicycle purchases have to go on the back burner for now! But I do definitely want one sometime soon. ;o)
