Suitcase bike!

A "folder" that uses its carry case as part of the frame!

Woah. I see the suitcase comes complete with casters, so I guess it's not very light; and I failed to find any photos of anyone riding it, which may tell you something as well. I also wonder how high you can put the seat. But I don't mean to be negative. I'd be happy to test ride one!

I think that's pretty darn cute. It can't be *that* heavy if the sides are fibreglass or grp - It's all a bit virtual though - i'd like to see someone on one. One would hope you can stow your lunchbox in it when you're riding :)

I like the suitcase that becomes a bike, but I really didn't like the bike that came out of the suitcase.

Another thing to file under "cool stuff that's interesting to read about".

Do you get the impression that the person who wrote that doesn't know much about folders?

"There were already some concept of foldable bicycles out there, but finally one seems to be reaching the production lines and is turning into market reality, as you can see by the picture bellow. (sic)"

SesameCrunch 05-02-07 06:59 PM

I dunno. I just keep asking myself - "would I want to be seen riding on that?" :)

Skidurts 05-02-07 07:14 PM

That bike would be dangerous in crosswinds.

jur 05-02-07 07:16 PM

Don't want to be on a bridge with high cross winds on that.

I think it is aimed at the Asian market. Folders are becoming ever nore popular there.

coming from a guy riding a lounge chair with pedals... :)

I think the bike in a suitcase is brilliant! I hope it spurs other manufacturers to improve on the design. Imagine, no need for panniers as the suitcase itself can stuff quite a fair bit of gear.

So you check in the suitcase bike when you fly. Take with you your cabin bag. On arrival, assemble bike, chuck cabin gear inside suitcase, and ride off from airport.

Presto!

So someone has modernised the 'Skoot' idea, the Skoot never suceeded, I wonder if this will........
