OK, for some reason my NWT sat on the dock yesterday and didn't get shipped. I suspect bribes coming from Ohio was the cause Today for sure, I'm told...

Thanks for the update MadBrewer. Sometimes I wonder if those PayPal transactions really go through. It probably sounded good at first, but maybe having written on your plaque "Hey, it's time for a beer!" wasn't such a good idea after all. The subliminal effects have been a disaster. Especially with the cabling department. But then we all know what they say about the guys in cabling. That being said... 12:24 pm, Indianapolis, Indiana, only 98 miles left to go. The third leg averaged a dissapointing 28.9 mph, but quite understandable considering the previous 1,756 mile course.

As I wrote earlier, the forth leg will be about a 98 mile distance with weather reporting in at 84F, wind from SW at 16 mph with gusts to 26 mph and visibility at 10 miles. The UV Index is at 9 (Very High), so truckers be sure to use plenty of that sun screen. SPF rating of 30 or high would be fine.

There was some messup at BF and I didn't get my tracking number. but it was shipped. The bike is scheduled to arrive tomorrow! (Thur) Keeping my fingers crossed -- at least it will be closer than I thought.

Hey, what about me? My NWT is due in the first week of July, but it has to cross the border. Am I competing with anyone around that delivery date?

So Who is the winner? One received the bike first, the other posted the picture first. Is it a tie?

Well, I think Unkunk received his first, but I think I went for a ride first. Until you ride it, a bicycle is just a piece of sculpture

So I think its a tie -- that's my story and I'm sticking to it

Ever since I got the bike I've kind'a lost interest. I 've been thinking of a few modifications.

Well since you're crossing a border, I'll spot you a month or two. So you're still a contender. I'll see if I can't edit the poll.

Are you pleased with your set up or are you going to make any changes? I was going to change to an Albatross handle bar and match it to a Brooks saddle I have. Also, I'm going to try a Surly Singelator on it. Should be sunny tomorow so I'll have better pictures.

So Unkchunk won...

I was in denial last night, but I have now reluctantly accepted that my theory is in tatters. If the Scrabble/Username formula had proved correct, I was planning a novel (a bit like The Dice Man, but with numbers and letters). I think this work of fiction would have been the catalyst for (another) strange literacy/numeracy cult.

Nice bikes by the way.

I'm pleased so far and have no plans. This is the first "serious" bike I've owned in 30+ years. I'm a beer geek, not a bike geek (not yet anyway) so I'm not sure where I'd even start as to changes

..which would have made you so rich that you'd own your own Ti folding bike manufacturer, and could spend the rest of your leisure time working on a way to bring back Lana Turner - preferably not through a tv screen ā la Poltergeist.

And congrats to Unkunk for getting the package first, and to The Brewer for getting the first ride!
