Wiki content growing - slight growing pains
The wiki on folding bikes at foldingbikes.wikispaces.com is slowly growing. I'm particularly grateful to Fear and Trembling and Keith for their input so far. I'm also slowly sticking in short content as a basis for people to start amending/improving. But please do if you have time get in there and add/improve.
Only one problem so far - an idiot with IP 70.230.185.147 - has chosen to use the wiki to post abusive comments about Yan L and Downtube bikes on both the Dahon and the Downtube pages. I'm going to revert the pages to their original text, but really don't want to have to spend time sorting out this sort of thing.
If the wiki is to work (like any wiki), it will be because people approach it in a positive and constructive way and - where they disagree with content either amend it or engage in the associated discussion forum. I'm keeping the wiki public for now, because that seems to be the easiest way to allow the widest possible range of people to contribute content. But that does rely on people not engaging in childish bike v bike wars. Indeed this forum is a fantastic example of how this sort of approach can work - bike trolls are few and far between.

I think this idiot has also been wrecking the wikipedia site. Disgruntled DT customer perhaps. I recommend you lock that particular page if this is possible.

I'm not sure how, but I had somehow missed this wiki before. Looks like it could become an excellent resource! Hope you can work out the growing pains -- my guess is that it will get old for the trolls eventually. I've added some basic information on the Boardwalk (my own ride) to flesh it out a bit. Hope to be able to contribute more in the future!

Great job so far! Organizing all folders in one place with specific details will be very helpful.
Thanks,
Yan

Matt-
Thanks for going to all the trouble with this.....I informed Dahon tech support about the moron with the disgruntled posts.....they will hopefully handle it on their end as well. Have a great weekend.

Yes, but answers.com is just a copy of the original Wikipedia thread on folding bikes. The real advantage of this particular Wiki is that each bike can be entered separately. I just filled out the Birdy section for you. Please feel free to edit, folks!

Wow,
I think that the Wiki site is going to be great. If you own one of the bikes that have not yet been described, please jump in and fill out the info. This looks like it'll be a great resource in the very near future,
Juan
