Seat for DownTube FS

Hi,

Could someone recommend a good seat for my DownTube FS bike? I think I have a 2005 model. The original seat is just too tiresome for my tush/weight.

Thanks in advance.

I like Specialized saddles both the Avatar gel and the Milano have served me well. I'm just under 200 lbs at 6'4" and measured for a 143 or 155 Avatar depending on riding style.

I am 6' and a bit heavier
I'll check out Milano, as the other one is expensive as the bike...
Which one should I pick?
They look kind of freaky

I'll see if my local bike shop has one for a reasonable price..

Have a look at this Sheldon Brown page on saddles. The main thing to take away from it is to be sure you get a saddle that is wide enough to accommodate your pelvic bones.

Check out the Hobson Easy Seat II (http://www.hobsonseats.com/) $60. I tried many different saddles on my Downtube mini, and the only one that I really like was the Hobson. The saddle is easily adjustable to accomodate wide and narrow butts. It ain't perfect, but it'll do - at least until I learn of something better.

Don't know what your weight is, but I recommend you get a Brooks B17. I have them on all my bikes (except my weight weenie Swift). They really are the most comfortable saddle out there.

+1 on the Brooks B17. It takes some time to break in, but then it's sooo nice.
