Dahon Jetstream Porn!

Finally got to take a decent but short ride on my new Jetstream. Took my new camera along too so I can share with all. I'm pleased with the bike, it's a good all-arounder, you may notice from the photos that I've turned the bars over to get a bit more leaned forward. I'm thinking a little hack-saw work and some nice bar-ends may be the hot ticket. I bought this bike because I am an over-the-road truck driver and I will not get routed through Moab or the Katy Trail again, without a bike on the truck, pure hell. Enjoy!

Very nice. I was tempted by the Jetstream, but went with the Mu SL in the end. How do you like the Power Grips compared to regular toe clips?

The Power Grips are awesome, so simple yet so effective. I'm going to order another pair for my redline. I too was tempted by the Mu SL, but figured the Jetstream would better handle the occasional off-road trips.

WorldPax 10-09-07 03:22 PM

How's that? Do the pics show up for you all now? I left the links just in case. I can see them, but I could see them before because it's my account.

Success! :)

+1

The Jetstream always has been THE Dahon I always wanted. It is spectacular.

I used to work for a truck driver focused retailer. Their whole business was built on truck drivers being trapped at truck stops. Hell, most truck stops are built on truck drivers being trapped at truck stops. I don't know why, but it really should have occurred to me before today - truck drivers really just need a decent folder with a lock and a basket. Leave the truck at the truck stop and ride 3-5 miles down the road to buy food and other essentials without a 150% markup. Eat stuff that isn't fried or processed, or doesn't come with a one in three chance of winning a Nascar hat.

Good idea.

Wow, just had that conversation with a buddy of mine... he just recently stopped driving long haul because of his declining health, blaming truck stop food... he's now taken a local run driving fuel within his more immediate area with the ability to eat at home .. maybe he would have stayed with the long hauls if he had a Dahon Jetstream in his sleeper..

WorldPax 10-13-07 01:04 AM

Yeah, having a bike on the truck opens up many opportunities. I carry a pannier with me and have a backpack, so hauling stuff back from a shopping run is no problem. I actually have 3 forms of transportation, the truck, the Jetstream, and a Razor scooter I use for short hops from the truck to the truck stop. Doesn't quite fit the truck driver image, but I'm not about image, it's a job.
