Shipping a Raleigh Twenty

I'm having a hard time finding a decent price to ship a Raleigh Twenty from AZ to VA, all the online quotes are over $100, for fedex, DHL and UPS. I haven't a clue what's wrong, even if I took the pedals and front wheel off and shipped it unfolded I'm not anywhere near what I'd expect the price to be. I shipped a touring bike two years ago and it was under fifty dollars. What prices are people paying to ship their folders or conventional framed bikes?

Thanks,

I'm not sure how accurate the online quotes are; last month I shipped a non-folding R20 from DC to NJ in a standard bike box via UPS Ground for $30.
