Dahon speed P9 - 2008

Hi!

I've been searching some information about the new Dahon product line for 2008 on the internet and found many asian web site reporting on a Dahon Speed P9. Beside its slightly lighter weight against the P8 (11,8kg instead of 12,6kg), it has the nice SRAM X9.

Has anyone heard something about this ?

Greetz!
Valéry.

Hi , i'm a chinese folder fan in mainland. it's not dahon 2008 model. it's produced for chinese special vision(from 06 we have the vision speed p9, the picture is 07 vision). Because the price of speedP8 in china is low enough, guys loves dahon speed model .....Zhang.

about the new models of Dahon2008, as i know, there is a PA684 in the new.its shape and color looks like PA654(CurveSL), but with a Sturmey Archer 8 speed hub in it ,and the weight is same with PA654(less than 10kg).i found that in a japanese website, that's all i know.Dahon produce factory was built in China, so what we get easiest is Dahon folders, and what we talk most is Dahon folders(a little about pacific made folders).

Hi, codename86, what is the price range of Dahon Curves in the mainland China these days? I am thinking about picking up one on my next trip to China. Also, is there any Brompton clone sold in China, like Flamingo/Merc/Scoop thing? I just love the portability of Brompton way of folding.

I should have known it wouldn't have the nice SRAM iMotion9.

HI, Kabir
CurveSL in China mainland need almost RMB3300-3800(USD440-500)
CurveD3 almost RMB2400(USD320)
MuSl almost RMB6000-7500(USD800-1000)

Mainland doesn't sell Brompton, and Merc/Flamingo are more impossible.
If someone in china pursue the portability of folder, they would chose Dahon Bya412, 14' wheel is suit for asians.

此致(regards)
Zhang

Hey, Zhang,

Thanks for the info. I am a little surprised that Merc/Flamingo is not available in the mainland since it is made in Taiwan, the neighbor. I also checked the BYA412. Someone in China said it is for under 13-year-old. huh? Well, I guess 14-inch is a bit too small for me since I need the bike for commuting. Oh, well, I may either get a Dahon curve or if I get a chance to go to Taiwan/Europe, I will get a Merc/Flamingo.

BYA412 for under 13-year-old? I agree, But... people loving it...

(black bya412, another special version for mainland)

the Merc/Flamingo, Reach etc is not available in mailand, as in Taiwan the Dahon SpeedP9, CurveSL, etc is not available too.
Alough we are in neighborhood, something still have a long road to go.
well, as far as I know, Someone bought a taiwan made Brompton Clone in HongKong with a low price last year, i don't know how about nowadays.
