Folding bike meeting - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Today we had a chance to gather for a nice bike ride in Rio de Janeiro. The weather wasn't nice, but we had a good time!

Awesome, I'm supposed to visit my dad in Salvador next year. Sadly, I won't be bringing my bike.

Convention of the Cool!

Aerobars on the Mini! I was going to do that. How's that working out?

I believe the aerobars have a limited use: You need perfect asfalt and nothing/nobody to dodge. Chances of overstearing while using the aerobars are significantly increased and for "Brazilian asfalt condition", impossible to use.

We have a nice 20+km non-stop ciclopath that goes from Leme/Copacabana beach to Leblon. Today was a holiday, so on top of that the main streets in front of the beach were closed. Lots of bikers, skaters, runners, etc. I believe the Aerobars were used for less than 1km.

It looks really good though (lol)

I've got pretty good road conditions where I ride. I think I'll put mine on tomorrow and try it out. Sure looks cool in the picture. Thanks!

PS: How come you're the only one smiling in the picture? Your buddies look like they're not having any fun in Rio. That can't be...

My friends were very unhappy with the stranger we asked to take the picture, and I was the only one thinking the situation was quite funny.
