Sette (Pricepoint) Folder

Just found this Sette F1 folding bike. That's PricePoint.com's inhouse brand that they somewhat try to pass off as a separate real brand. Not too sure if naming a folding bike "F1" was a good idea. That aside, looks like an interesting option to consider tho. Looks like mostly off the shelf stuff, might be a good contender to tinker with.

Looks good, except that it doesn't have an adjustable handle bar post. ' wonder how much does it actually weigh?

I have Hasa F2, 16" version. Need to change the rear hub since the gearing is too low. Then I add rear fender and change the seat too. It is almost 2 years old now, and I think it is good enough for the price. It takes me 35 minutes to go to my office, 11 km away, compare to 30 minutes in 700C bike.

I have ordered many times from your store and never have been disappointed with the customer service

Hi Doco,

Hey thanks. Let us know if you with any suggestions you may have of our service and how we can make it better. We pride ourselves in our customer service because when you call us you actually get people who ride.

Yeah sorry we are always looking at new single speed options. Generally, we have to go one direction with our frames and stick with it.

But many of the other inexpensive folders this bike is competing with have quite a bit more detail available than you guys show. Folks doing comparison shopping, particularly bike-saavy folks like many here, probably won't consider this Sette folder simply because of the lack of available info. IMHO the "have a question about this product?" mailto link leaves a lot to be desired.

Also, concern is growing of late due to reports of disintegrating stems, seatposts and whatnot on some bikes (regular forum members know whose bikes I speak of) so some mention about the warranty, if there is one, would be a big plus.
Hi Mokaimo,

I'll have our product guys take care of this.

Thanks,

Howard

Hi Mokaimo,

The Sette F! is now updated. Many generic parts like the seat, seatpost, stem, bars and brake levers. We tried to get into more detail. Let me know if you need anything more specifically.

I'd still like to see some statement about the warranty or guarantee on this bike. Pricepoint's own standard 30-day return policy - original unused/uninstalled condition - doesn't provide much relief if the bike falls apart after a couple of months.

I checked Sette USA's webpage, their sitemap, and even searched the site using the words "warranty" (and "warrantee"), "guarantee", "service" and "customer" and didn't get any results. Perhaps that's an oversite that can be remedied quickly.

Otherwise...even considering it looks good, the low price, and the fact it's got some decent components, I don't see this folder as viable competition to the other brands often discussed here. Unless you count the ones selling on eBay, and those discussions are often very short...

Mokaimo,

Thanks. I'm trying to make this thread as something you guys and gals (Patrons of Bike Forums) can rely on with everything regarding our company. So I'll be quick in response to your questions and comments.

We pride ourselves in our bikes frame and if you find something better or to more your taste then we encourage you seeking that item because at the end of the day you have to be happy with your purchase. We bring customers and keep them by trying to offer them values in price, great brands, and fast shipping. We will never try to advise on something that we are not or you are not 100%. Example: I'm an all SRAM guy, but have been steered away (by great opinion) from our bike gurus at Pricepoint. So it's only 80% SRAM. Joking.

As for warranty I'll talk with our tech team to see what we can do regarding this listing because it is truely outside of just buying a frame.

Will update you soon,

Howard
