“Sold by Hans Ohrt – Beverly Hills”
When I was 13 yrs old, my uncle gave me his old bike, a Griffon (best described a French road racer). It also had one of those stickers "Sold by Hans Ohrt" on it. He was very name brand oriented - Rolex, a new '56 Cadillac, Speed Graphic & Leica cameras.
It had aluminum drop bars, a three speed shifter on the top tube, toe cages on the pedals, and what we then referred to as 27" wheels. No kid in the neighborhood could beat that bike. (I was 6' tall by then, which might have given me a bit of advantage, too.)
Memories!
Also, wife really likes those 20's. Don't think she'd mind if I bought one for her.
Had to mention to her that a Raleigh 20 would NOT ride like her Pocket Crusoe does.
