I had the same results intermittently yesterday. Sometimes it worked, sometimes not. Certain search phrases never worked. Seems like a BF server problem.

I search for tikit rack - search still works.
I search for tikit front rack - search returns blank page for results?

Type site:bikeforums.net into Google along with your search term. It works much much better than the forum search even when it is working (increasingly rare).
