whats this on a dahon speed pro?

on the handle post half way up, a bit of plastic with 2 screws, plastic moves up and down, whats this for?
my first folder and i like it, now all i need is the correct gear; twirling bow tie, big red nose, baggy pants and size 15 shoes.

Light? Cable routing? Hard to say without a picture, though it's likely to be there for a reason!
Perhaps it stops chipping /clips to something when the post is folded?

And hey - less of the clown comments boyo!
At least we don't wear lycra!

When you fold the handlepost down, that plastic nub buttons into a plastic portion on the frame to secure the handlepost when the bike is folded.

As for the piece of plastic with the two screws.......maybe that's Dahon's feeble attempt for a secondary safety devise for when the stem hinge breaks....you know, to put the worried owner's mind at rest
