Auto mini folder Questions
I'm thinking about buying an Iverson auto mini frame. The biggest issue is that it's missing the bolt or device for securing the unfolded frame.
Does anyone have any suggestions for where I might find one, or are they virtually impossible to find apart from a bike? Thanks for any thoughts. |
take a look at this thread: http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...ight=auto+mini
i changed about everything on my auto-mini. as a new BB i used a standard 40mm thing that needs to be hammered in... (dounno the english name for it).. works perfekt. using a standard 170mm crankset will give you only a little ground-clearance. It's tight but it works (if you do not intend to turn it into a fixed gear ride). If you can find a shorter crankset, prefer it to a standard one. changing the fork: I took a long 20" fork and cut a very long spacer out of an old aluminum-frame. that steep standard-stem I got from ebay for 2€ but it will work with any other. This bike is a very convenient ride... |
That's great--I appreciate the information. It's encouraging to hear it's doable!
I still wonder though: The frame is missing the pin that secures the unfolded frame--what's the likelihood of finding another correct pin for this Auto-Mini frame? Thanks again. |
I think you could easily make a pin yourself. You will probably not find one, but they are not very special...
