Does anybody know where to find a Dahon Neos?
The road oriented bike shop in town (which was pretty awful) closed a month or two ago. The other shop in town, which is really good is closed for the month (they do that every February). I tried a couple dealers on the internet who claimed to have them in stock on their web pages, and none actually have them. The estimate for a date to get them in stock is mid April. I've tried Dahon directly, they said to contact their dealers.
I'm working on the same ASME competition I did last year. I'm building a new bike, and thus need a new derailer. Last year we ended up taking the one from my folding bike and modifying it. That never got replaced so that isn't an option this year. It's a simple little stamped metal part. Retail is only ~$20. This really shouldn't be hard.
If anybody out there has one (or three) version 1 or 2, that they would like to sell, or if you actually know where to find one, please let me know.
It looks like this (nice people, they just didn't have one):
https://foldingbikesusa.com/itemdetails.cfm?id=463
For those who are more curious, the project is here:

I'm going to post this in "Bicycle mechanics" as well. If a mod feels the cross posting is inappropriate feel free to let me know and/or merge them. I'm doing that is in the past I have gotten very different responses between sub forums.

Have you tried ThorUSA? It is also listed as being available on Thor's website:

Hmm, I never got that e-mail or I would have gotten them. It must have vanished in my spam folder. Anyways, I sent you an e-mail yesterday from my school (Rose-Hulman) address with an inquiry. I'll order them either way but please still answer that. Thanks for the reply.

Update: Apparently ThorUSA does have them in stock. As an edit to my post above (I will edit it): I did not mean to slander ThorUSA, nor imply that they are a poor business. The source of the problems I had last spring were due to an issue with Dahon (corporate level) not having parts available while stating they did. I will post again here when they show up.

jccaclimber,
I have some beefs with Dahon as far as ordering goes as well. About half the stuff on their accessories page isn't available at any given time it seems like. I tried to order some touch up paint for a bike of mine and they told me to use a Sharpie (I'm not kidding).
Then the stuff that they do have in stock they farm out to their dealers such as Thor but they only pay them to ship regular mail. Ordering stuff from them to my house at an FPO address takes a natural lifetime. Last thing I ordered took about 7 weeks.
I learned my lesson ordering from Dahon. From now on I'll go straight to Thor and request Priority mail shipping.
BTW, my sister and nephew live in Terre Haute. I'm from Evansville.
