What shifters work with Dual Drive hubs?

I've got a possible opportunity to buy one, but hub only. Derailleur is nothing to do with the hub, so presumably that's by whatever means you have, but what about the 3 speed? I haven't found any SRAM 3 speed shifters for sale.

I know that road sti shifters work with the DD internal hub. Presumably so would indexed bar cons.

Actually, another key question here is whether this works with anyoldderailleur, or whether the specific Dual Drive derailleur is required. I don't require derailleur indexing, and I don't think I'd be prepared to spring the necessary cash if the specific piece is required.

As someone who's not long upgraded his bike to DD, I can give you some answers:
1. You do not need the DualDrive-specific deraillieur. Dahon don't use it as part of their standard kit, on my Jetstream XP it's working very nicely indeed with the standard SRAM X9. Apparently it works with Shimano-compatible cassettes as well (Shimano deraillieur as well? No idea).
2. Right side shifter can indeed stay as it is, if you so wish. I went for the integrated 27-speed shifter instead. Any SRAM left-side shifter should work for the hub. Try Gaerlan Custom Cycles- https://www.gaerlan.com/bikeparts/parts/hubs/hubs.html (who built my DD wheel & supplied all the other bits) if you can't find a stockist over here. They have the left one at $24.95.

So basically, any old derailleur and shifter combo, and any SRAM 3 speed shifter? Does that mean any of their FD shifters, or only hub gear specific shifters?

Ok - got it. That seems very reasonable, and having almost decided not to buy this thing, I'm back on the "let's try it" track!

I'm not absolutely certain about the left-side shifter compatibility, as I didn't go for it myself (and it's not mentioned in the manual). There is a DualDrive-specific left side shifter, so probably best to go for that (£25 over here, $25 from Gaerlan). Remember you'll need the clickbox as well.

Any idea where they can be sourced over here? I had a hunt around last night with no luck.

https://www.twowheelsgood.co.uk/index...oopr5hn7kuius5 were the cheapest I could find over here, you might be able to order it direct from Fisher Outdoor (UK distributor). Import might still work out cheaper...

Hmmm. I'm considering starting an online bike business, which would make things considerably cheaper for my personal fun too, but since the wife is just starting her own business, and we've just had a baby (on Saturday), that might be on the back burner for a few months. Thanks for the link!
