Another very nice Birdy MOD

One of best looking Birdies I've seen so far.
Birdy-specific 18" A-class FOLEX wheelset is used.
F&R springs are swapped with hard Cycle shop sibuya custom red springs.

Beautiful bike.

The Ultegra set up works with that big 32? tooth cog?

I am a big fan of short cage road rear derailleurs.
They are light, shifts better (higher tension), and has more ground clearance (which is important for small wheelers)

-You can use (mostly) short-cage road RD with 11-32T cassette.
I have experimented with even 11-34T one.. it worked well!
Shifting becomes sluggish when you move beyond ~28T range, but you won't use 32T very often anyway.
More option is always better I think.

-You can use short cage RD with triple cranks.
With this setting you cannot use some (usually 2 or 3) extreme gear combinations such as 53-27T, and you should avoid cross-chaining anyway.

I use short cage derailleurs on some of my folders for most of the same reasons.. on the Birdy however, a short cage won't take up enough chain when folding, so the chain will be constantly coming off unless you are vigilent during folding.. and even then, the chain will be dragging the ground when folded...maybe a small price for the good look however... :)

I didn't think that would work either... hmm...

What a Saawweeeeeeet bike!

Did the front spring come in stock red?

Uh no... the third sentence says:
"F&R springs are swapped with hard Cycle shop sibuya custom red springs."
