Fastest folder...

I found this great article on a UK web site: London commuters race around a course on their folders and the winner gets a Dahon. Interesting that the Xootr came in #1:

But if it were a team race, Brompton would be the winner hands down! Just goes to show you...it's the rider.

Xootrs seems to be a very capable (albeit heavy) machine.
One of my mate won circuit race event with xootr swift (w/DA components and aerospoke wheelset)
His average speed were more than 40kph as far as I remember.

Dammit! I can't go to London that day due to commitments, otherwise I might have tried to put a Downtube on the podium!

For the record - I'm entered for this. Can't decide on attire or which bike to ride. Wondering if riding my fixies means everyone will whoop-my-ass. Should be mondo fun though; I intend to rig-up some sort of bikecam so's you can all enjoy my magnificent lose...

Feel free to come and watch on the day you London folder people...

I can't access it right now but there's a video on YouTube of a folding bike competition.

It's 10-15 minutes long and each person has to pedal to line, get off, fold their bike, walk over to a set of stairs, sit down, cross their legs and then get back up, fold their bike and ride off.

It's a pretty entertaining video and a neat look at some of the folding bikes out there.

There were so many, they took most of the top spots (by sheer force of numbers).

Good luck, LP.

And you might have won if you replicated your attire for the naked ride because you would be the only competitor SB and have scared the other contestants off lol! :-D

Mind you they might break the Moulton speed record for road cycling..............

Bahahaha! Business attire though. Now, if I got a job as a stripper.

Seriously though, I'm going into training for next year. NS 9 speed with a bigger front chainwheel?
