Bi Bici Tandem Folder

Here are some photos of a bi Bici folding tandem I saw for sale in a Milan street market. Cute little bike, I think the makers name is Milesi. I may go back next week and see if i can get enough elbow room to take some decent photos, assuming it's still there !

Which market did you see it at?

I'm not looking to buy that bike, but to have a look at some other bikes.

Hi Johnny, it was the saturday market in Navilgli / Singallia near Porta Genova metro in a large car park. There were a a nimber of sellers with bikes, some nice ones, including the red one in the photos here. I sent these photos to a friend in uk, who was disinterested in the red bike, but raved about the one behind it !

Thanks for that. I ride past Porta Genova on my way to the canal tow path - It's only about 15 minutes walk from where I live as well. I'll have to check it out.

What were the prices being asked? Were they realistic?

The only one I asked about was the red bike, for which the guy was asking 150 euros. I go the the sunday morning market by San Donato metro, there you can pick up a good, useable, steel single speed for 25 euros upwards. There needs to be a cheap source of bikes around here, given the frequency with which they are stolen !

I think the ones for sale in San Donato are the ones that are stolen.

Do you know on what street the Porta Genova market is located?

At the junction of via Valenza, via Vigevano & Piazzale Stazione Genova, the car park runs along the side of the railway lines.

Are you Milansese ? why are there so few folders in Milano ?

No, I'm not Italian.

I'm not really into folding bikes so I don't actually really know why people own them in the first place (except for commuting on trains and storage issues). I can only assume that the people in Milan don't have a practical need for them. Most seem to lock their bikes up outside. I keep one of my bikes in my cantina and the other in my dining room.

Thanks for the info - I usually ride down via Vigevano and via Valenza.
