Urgent Request - has anyone here fitted fenders to their Downtube Full Suspension?
Every enquiry I get at Velo Chocolate includes a question about fenders (mudguards). I'm having trouble getting the right people to talk to me at distributors, so til I can lay in a stock myself, I want to be able to direct people to suitable fenders. I want to be quite sure that what I direct them to will work, but I'm not certain myself, so if you've fitted your FS with fenders, please could you share what they are, how you fitted them, and how well they've worked for you.

I'd have to ask the local supplier who the disty is. I tried for ages with no luck on the web, as best I was quoted was 1/2 the cost of a DTIXFS from a recumbent firm.

Thanks! Do you know the brand? I can probably find out who the distributor is, but in the extremely short term, I just want to be able to link people to where they can buy the things right now. Much appreciated.

"Spencer Alloy Mudguards M" seems likely. If you have no joy, I'll ask the shop where they get them.

Thankyou! I can find the brand, which means I can most likely find what I need with persistence. Much appreciated.

Actually, could you ask the supplier who they bought them from? I can find a couple of companies that sell them retail, but no clues at all as to who the wholesaler is. Cheers!

You're a star! It is urgent, since I've got a customer who's ordered a bike, and is worrying that I won't find him fenders. I owe you one!

*Spins round Columbo style*
Just one more question.....
The gadget used to mount the guard to the side of the fork with no eyelet - did that come with the mudguards?

Just back from London. Took 1/2 hour to do a mile along Kilburn, yuk.
It's just a post clamp I had, probably from a light fitting. It's just the right size for the fork, with a right angled moulding to take the mounting strut.
Likewise for the rear, I used a plastic mounting clip for 1/2" copper pipe.
I can take more detailed photo's of those if you like?

That would be awesome. So it's a "custom mount" eh? Hmmm. I might need to find a source of suitable things. At the back, I thought you'd fitted them to the eyelets?

I'd need to buy them in enough quantity that I could offer them at profit in my store though. This is more for my adoring public than it is for me....

See if these 3 pic's help.
If you PM me your details, I've probably got a spare rear clip I can send you. A front clip should be easy to get, but I don't have a spare currently.

Thanks, I'll do that. Whatever the best solution is, I'm going to need to find someone to supply it to me in quantity, since I want to offer mudguard kits to my customers.
