Downtube 8HN with Big Apple tires

Hi,
I'd like to buy a Downtube 8HN bike and to install Big Apple tires to cushion the ride a bit. Does anybody have any experience with fitting such tires to 8HN? Is there enough clearance for fenders?

Location: I am currently playing 2 months on the national tour of Annie, and starting Feb '10 will be playing 18 months on the national tour of Beauty and the Beast; my stuff lives in a storage unit in Northridge, CA and at a buddy's house in Cedar City, UT :)
Bikes: 2006 Dahon Speed P8 (currently in storage); Bike Friday Season tikit (with all the bells and whistles) :)

I have fitted 1.95 BMX tire. The width is about the same as Big Apple 2.0. Both are 50mm tires. The clearance with the stock fender is fine but close. But 20" Freddy fender is too narrow if you are thinking about replacing the stock fender with Freddies.

Forgot to mention. Mine is DT 9NS, which could has slight difference from 8HN.
